YOON KWON (violin) began her career in 1993 at age 13, when she became the youngest winner in the history of the New Jersey Symphony Young Artists Auditions. At age 17 she made her New York concerto debut at Avery Fisher Hall, and has since appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. Her chamber music artistry has taken her to the Aspen, Santa Fe, Marlboro and La Jolla festivals, as well as international engagements in Switzerland, Italy and Finland. Kwon is the youngest first violinist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, a member of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's CMS Two program, electric/acoustic violinist with the new music group Matrix, and violinist for the jazz ensemble Emergence, with whom she has recorded an album for Songlines. She is currently working on a solo crossover album.
